BlackPoint Capital Markets is a boutique advisory practice providing independent merchant banking services to our clients. BlackPoint provides strategic, financial, and tactical advice on complex mergers, acquisitions, company sales, and corporate divestitures including carve-outs, joint ventures, and spin-offs.

BlackPoint provides financial and structuring advice in connection with capital raising alternatives, including debt, equity, and hybrid capital, identifying alternative sources of growth capital, including SPACs and private capital, and assisting with identifying investors, developing terms and structuring the transaction.

BlackPoint has made a substantial investment in people, building an accomplished team of individuals who developed advanced processes and technologies for over 30 years at leading financial institutions.

Steven Turi Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer

As a founding member and Chief Investment Officer, Steve oversees asset allocation and investments.

Steve co-founded Riverview Alternative Investment Advisors, a multi-billion dollar alternative investment manager overseeing complex alternative investment strategies for institutions globally.

Working with Dr. Harry Markowitz, Nobel Laureate in Economics, Steve integrated key tenets of Modern Portfolio Theory and Behavioral Finance to provide investment solutions for global institutional investors. While at Daiwa Securities, he rose to head Global Equity Derivatives and pioneered the integration of equity derivatives with equity financing to more effectively structure relationships with alternative investment firms.

At Barclays Capital, Steve played an active role in managing and implementing a successful outcome for the Long-Term Capital Management crisis during unstable global financial markets.

He began his career as an Electrical Engineer, and while working at IBM’s Wall Street branch, he rose to a lead consultant for some of their largest financial services clients. He also served as CIO of BPV Capital overseeing investments leading to AUM growth from under $200m to over $2 billion. Steve has a BS, Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He brings his insights and services to a number of charitable organizations including 180 Turning Lives Around and the Second Floor Youth Hotline. Both organizations provide invaluable support and services to families and children in New Jersey.

Andrew Melnick, CFA Managing Partner & Chief Investment Strategist

As a founding member and Chief Investment Strategist, Andy develops global economic framework analyses and investment strategy. He also focuses on business strategy supporting the development of bespoke investment solutions focused on meeting the needs of institutional investors. Andy experienced many different capital market cycles as the financial industry encountered major transformative events.

Goldman Sachs appointed Andy as a Partner and Management Committee Member. In that role, he co-led the Global Equity and Economic Research Department. Through his efforts, Goldman enhanced their presence in alternative assets.

As Director of Global Securities & the Economic Research Division at Merrill Lynch, Andy grew that business from 3 to 25 countries worldwide with a staff of 1400. Andy was the longest serving senior executive in a global management role, and mentored a number of highly ranked investment analysts. Under his leadership, Merrill Lynch earned the Institutional Investor Magazine award for the top US research firm for 7 consecutive years.

While at L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin, the firm became the leading underwriter of technology companies. Andy also held management and research positions at Drexel Burnham Lambert, BPV Capital, and Woolcott and Company.

Andy has a BA and MBA from Rutgers University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Andy served as a Signal Corps Officer in the United States Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam.

He brings his insight and expertise to a number of charitable organizations as well as traveling extensively to broaden his global perspective.

Christopher Turi Partner & Portfolio Manager

Chris is a partner, portfolio manager, and member of the firm’s Investment Management Committee. Additionally, Chris focuses on strategic initiatives and investment strategy development. Chris serves as a Board Observer to several portfolio companies. Prior to joining, he founded a consumer products firm with global sales in Europe and Asia.

Chris is a graduate of Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Applied Accounting and a concentration in Alternative Investments.

Timothy Sheehan Managing Partner, BlackPoint Capital Markets

Founder and Managing Partner of BlackPoint Capital Markets, LLC. with over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, investment banker, and investment manager. Completed over two hundred transactions representing over $22.0 billion in notional capital. Founded and managed two Cayman domiciled private investment funds. Passionate about helping entrepreneurs bring innovative technologies forward with extensive experience in MedTech and FinTech and a vast network of industry relationships. Registered Representative of Finalis Securities LLC Member FINRA / SIPC.

Lawrence Chiarello Managing Director & Chief Compliance Officer

Larry is a co-founder of SkyView Investment advisors and his career spanned a number of milestones within the financial industry.

At Riverview Investment Advisors, Larry focused on manager research and helped grow assets under management in excess of $2 billion internationally. He also served as a risk manager for BPV Capital as AUM grew from under $200m to over $2 billion.

Larry’s career at Soros Fund Management spanned over 16 years where he built the performance and risk analytics group. He also expanded the outside manager (i.e. satellite) network to over $4 billion. While at Soros assets under management grew from under $400 million to over $25 billion.

While at Drexel Burnham, Larry was a member of the Los Angeles based High Yield & Convertible Bond Group headed by Michael Milken. Larry frequently speaks and contributes to various venues within the alternative asset industry. He has met with hundreds of managers during his career. He is an active community member and devotes his time to expanding access to the arts.

F. Javier Perez, CFA Director

Francisco Javier Perez, CFA, has extensive experience in investment banking, investment management, and financial services. Mr. Perez co-leads BlackPoint Capital Market’s merchant banking efforts. In addition, Mr. Perez plays an instrumental role in BlackPoint’s private investments and is responsible for the management of BlackPoint’s co-investment network.

Mr. Perez’s specific areas of expertise are in managing and directing client investments, helping launch and structure investments and funds, due diligence, strategic advisory, market strategy, and executing funding and M&A transactions, particularly in the healthcare space.

Justin Greenhill Portfolio Manager

As a Portfolio Manager, Justin brings a unique perspective on global markets. Prior to Skyview Justin was Chief Investment Officer at RidgePath Capital Management where he developed and ran a global macro strategy. Previously Mr. Greenhill was a Risk Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Capital Investment Advisory Services where he focused on the third-party money management program for financial advisors. Justin has worked in Singapore as a derivative trader/analyst and spent notable time in various global locations including China and Brazil. Mr. Greenhill has degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and attended the National University of Singapore.

Feiby Dawod Risk Management & Investment Ops

As a Risk/Operations Manager at SkyView, Feiby brings significant skill to performing operational due diligence, risk management, performance analysis, and strategy development. She has experience in working with traditional and alternative investment strategies across various global asset classes. Feiby began working in the investment industry in 2006. Since that time, she’s made important contributions to holdings analysis, valuation policy development and implementation, and detailed performance and portfolio reporting for different constituents across asset classes and strategies.

Prior to joining SkyView, Feiby was Head of Risk Management at ZAIS Group where she managed risk, valuation and audit processes for a multi-billion dollar, global multi-strategy hedge fund and alternative investments firm. Mrs. Dawod holds a Bachelors of Commerce with a major in Finance from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.

Nick Dai, PHD Portfolio Manager

Mark Silverman Director

Mark is a 40 year veteran of Wall Street with extensive relationships throughout the financial industry. He previously managed MDS Capital Partners, a fund devoted to the life sciences. Prior to that Mark served as CEO of Burrill Merchant Group a division of Burrill Capital Management which was focused on venture capital in the life sciences sector. He has held senior management positions at firms including Montgomery Securities, Pacific Growth Equities, Summer Street Research Partners and L.F. Rothchild Unterberg Towbin. Mark hold a B.S. in biology from American University and an MBA in Finance from New York University. He has also completed the coursework towards an M.S. in biochemistry at New York University.

Lauren Lind Associate

Matteo Tavella Investment Analyst

Matteo began as an investment analyst intern in 2019 and joined SkyView as an investment analyst in 2021 assisting investment research across new investments and existing portfolio exposures. Prior to working with SkyView, Matteo completed an internship in operations at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Rutgers Business School.
